The last two post are prefect enough for me to get the Camp2. I also want to have a wideband reading on it so i'll ask GTM how they can get that information..
thanks again. |
Is the Nissan CONSULT harness required or are you good to go with just the unit..??

Once Pioneer releases a new 7" monitor or find one I like, I will be custom fabbing a 2nd screen above my nav unit for a dedicated engine monitoring setup. Dreamer beat me to it :icon23: However I would like to eventually solder the OBDII cable to the factory wires. Or by one of these bad boys so I can continue to have and open OBD2 port. OBD Diagnostics, Inc. - OBD2 Y Cable http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...g?t=1288142885 This is a picture I took before I tuned the unit. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...g?t=1288143006 |
BTW,
I contacted GTM and they don't have a way to get wideband on the CAMP2. They suggested the FCON (which HKS suggests also) for AFR. I already have a wideband gauge so no harm, no foul. A couple of questions: One, I don't have my stock radio. Would it be a wise installing the CAMP2 on a screen where my stock radio should be? Should I buy a stock NAV and install it that way? |

I'll take to remember to post pix when I have everything installed and working. BTW, I choose the CAMP2 over the Magden (and other alternatives) because I'll eventually engine build and I'll probably need the F-CON V PRO. |
is that the only viewing option or can you do digital gagues?
|
Digital: Digital you have two options, 3 or 6 viewable items
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_wgFNZZBDMaE/TE...Screen%205.jpg Sort of analog: I say sort of because it is the analog option but I did option 2 in it. 1 analog gauge and the rest digital. If you do option 1 it is 3 analog gauges and no digital http://lh4.ggpht.com/_wgFNZZBDMaE/TH...825_080028.jpg |
That's still better than putting in a pillar pod IMO, looks more clean and factory. seeing it on your car def makes me want to order. Nice setup, how is the reaction laggy at all or pretty smooth?
|
Lag is very little and sometimes it is nice having just a little bit as it gives me a chance to look at it and check on something that I heard to verify everything is good.
|
theDreamer: Any chance you could post what other accessories other than the Camp2 unit you are using, like the connector to monitor boost etc..
|
It is all a package basically, you buy the HKS Camp II and then there are add on sensors.
HKS USA CAMP2 Optional IF Unit and Sensors That link is to all the optional sensors you can add into the system for anything it does not read directly. |
ok thanks.. so just so I'm reading that right, If I were to buy the Boost Sensor, part #44999-AK021, I need to get the Meter Interface Unit, part #44008-AK011 to connect that too right? And that Meter Interface Unit connects to the Camp2?

Yes you need the interface unit to connect any of the extra sensors that HKS sells.

To bad the Camp 2 will not read the OEM Widebands.
|
The blitz does look at my thread you will see bank 1 and 2 on my screen
|
But the Blitz has far less options than the HKS
|
as in what?
|
can the Blitz read boost?
|
^^ thats what I'd like to know too.. I have my local shop looking into it.. as the Blitz website is kinda sucky.. I'll let you all know what I find out.

Temperature Sensor - part no 19210 Pressure Sensor - part no 19211 A/F Analyser - part no 15063 I dont know the limit of sensors you can install on the Blitz, but one installer told me 2. The HKS has the possibility to install 6 sensors I believe. Edit: Not that the Blitz is a bad unit at all because its a great unit and the GUI is very nice to look at. But for those looking for more sensors the Camp2 is the way to go. And no there is no boost reading on the Blitz unit that I am aware of. One thing the Blitz has that HKS does not is the AF but I personally will use the well proven and accurate HKS AFK2 for that function. Also the Blitz GUI is way better looking than the HKS in my opinion. When it all comes down to it, if you want a plethora of gauges but dont want them all scattered on your dash, the Camp2 is the one stop shop and the Blitz is one sexy beast too. |

BTW,
I choose to not go with the CAMP2. I'll probably kick up the GREDDY touch screen system instead. |

Bump.
After looking into this again, I don't think an expensive after market display is worth it. After researching HKS product, I got turned off and I was interested in the GReddy Touch screen solution... then I started wondering why should I even have an aftermarket display to begin with considering that GReddy's product looks just like a phone. For my situation: I don't need to 'record' my track times nor do I NEED an aftermarket display. I already have my AFR and Boost gauge (via HKS EVC). A phone app would suite me better: OT-2 OBD-II WiFi Interface for PCs and Smartphones There's positives and negatives but having my phone play music, navigation, monitor my OBD II, text, make calls, blah blah blah is prefect for my situation. |

Can someone tell me how to make this work WHILE DRIVING with the 2009 factory nav system?
Thanks, blue |
Think you need something called NavTool, and a way to bypass video playing while driving.
