Yes. The Bluetooth/phone buttons to the left no longer worked. :(

Someone in that thread was able to retain their phone functions, you may want to PM them to see what they did.

Good luck!!

For what it's worth I needed the dashkit for my Pioneer install. I had the Bose system and from my understanding if you have the Bose system you need the dash kit. If you have the standard stereo you can slid the stereo in and out of the OEM dash because it has the cutouts already. If I didn't have the kit there would be a gap around the dash and the head unit.

I have a PAC interface and steering wheel controls work just fine.

Also, my gap is not nearly as big as the pioneer big just posted.

I did not need a dash kit with the base unit, and there are no gaps.

And this is the pioneer units with the dash kit. Depending on the model the gap might be different but with this unit, the gap was huge.

The fact is you have worked on what one, two five z's? While I have done over 12 I know what needs a dash kit and what does not. Most kenwoods are fine they have a very small gap. Compared to the pioneers which are a tad small units themselves some will need dash kits. So shut up and stop trying to start crap on every thread.

Pics? usually you have a small gap or rather large one.

Also as I said wicked, al head units are different but from what I have done you need one.

Here you go. No gaps at all, and no dash kit. Just the trim ring supplied by Pioneer, just like Wicked Grin's

Cool and as I clearly stated some need the dash kit and some do not. I forgot it comes with a trim ring when the other needed the ring from the kit.

Still have all controls. No gaps, back up camera is great.
