Default Kenwood DNX6960 Install Questions

I installed a Kenwood DNX6960 with an Alpine PDX-5. I put in new new components and a sub from Wicked CAS, but those are not relevant to the 2 issues I am having.

1. I am not getting any AM/FM stations. I figure I hooked up the antenna wrong, but I'm not sure what to do. The 6960 has a plug in adapter for the antenna input and no wires on the actual harness going into the head unit. I used the Scosche NAA2B Antenna Adapter. I connected the large black plug to the HU's antenna connector, but I don't know what to connect the blue wire from the Scosche adapter too, if anything?

2. The instructions in the Apline PDX-5 are not very clear as to how to bridge the amp. I am running the Front Left RCA to a Y cable and connecting it to channels 1 & 2 on the amp. The Front Right RCA does the same to channels 3 & 4. My confusion is how to wire the speaker runs from the amp. I have 4 channel outputs and only 2 speaker wire runs.

Thank you for any assistance.

1. make sure your blue wire form the antenna adapter is going to the blue wire of the head unit harness and is all connected.

2. Not sure what you are asking. When you bridge the channels it should use a combination of 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 so you should be able to hook up the rcas to either of the 4 without a y splitter.

Thanks for the reply bigaudio.

My head unit harness does not have a blue wire for the antenna, nor did it have a wire for the amp power control.

As for bridging the channels on the amp, the instructions specifically state and show that I have to use a Y-splitter.

The part that I am confused on is running the wires from the amp to the cross-overs. Do I run a connection from the + of channel 1 and a connection from the - of channel 2 to the left cross-over? Then repeat for channels 3 & 4 to the right cross-over?

How did you end up running the power control? I am installing the same head unit and having the same issue with my amp.

For now it is hooked to the ignition wire (red). It is not the most elegant solution but it works. I would much prefer to have it hooked through a switch to the ignition wire, but I haven't had the time to do that yet.

There is another power wire there such as the 12 volt plug wire or another wire in the harness you can use that switches on and off with the car. Would be nicer than using a switch unless you want to use a switch.
