Thinking about pioneer

I'm thinking about getting this headunit:

Amazon.com: Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT 7-Inch Flagship In-Dash Navigation A/V Receiver with DVD Playback and Bluetooth: Electronics

But I'm lost when it comes to speakers and amplifiers. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with Pioneer subs and speakers, and what would be other recommended brands. I have used the search function, but there are a variety of opinions on what the best setup would be. I would also like to use two subs in the back facing the two passenger seats.

I would not recommend them for speakers amps or subs. People will stand by for there head units but as I have had bad luck with installs with there units I would personally not recommend them.

For amps speakers and subs there are many better names to spend your money on such as polk, alpine, and kenwood.

The Z1100BT is a very good headunit at a solid price, used it in person with a friends car and will be buying it myself soon.
On the other topics I would listen to others as I have not read up on amps in a long time.

I'm using the Pioneer 10" Shallow sub and the TS-D1720C in my Z right now, and I think they sound great. I've also had Pioneer video headunits and speakers in my previous 2 vehicles with no complaints.

Thats a great head unit you wont be disappointed. When it comes to speakers, amps and subs I always set myself a budget and get the best I can within that budget. Dont spend $500 on speakers then run them with a $75 amp. If your not a diehard audiophile then Pioneer does have a couple of lines of speakers and subs that you would be happy with for the price just stay away from there lower end products. Of course there are other brands that are better but not everyone wants to spend $2000-$3000, so set a budget and work from there.

What would be a good brand? Audiobahn, JL audio, or Crutchfield

I've heard good about it so!

Actually I did some researching and Rockford fosgate seems like a good brand

Rockford Fosgate® - T1000-4

Rockford Fosgate® - T2D412

But again, I'm new to audio and I really don't have a set budget. I can spend about 5-7k, at least for now.

Crutchfield isn't a brand, just a reseller.

I have an Avic F90BT, alpine amp and infiniti speakers and am pretty happy, but I don't really like the functionality of the headunit compared to the avic-Z3 I had in my last car. There is a guy on the gfrenzy site selling a Z2 for 650. If you are interested, pm me for the contact info. It is by far the real top of the line Pioneer, and you can upgrade it to the latest Z3 software if you are computer literate.

Thanks everyone for the info, I think I got my setup figured out. I'll post pictures up when I get everything and install it

On second though I might get the new Kenwood 9960...

The pioneer bashing is getting really old. You really think that alpine kenwood and polk makes better speakers than pioneer? Check the T/s parameters and frequency response before making uneducated statements. Pioneer is teh only company out of the ones you listed who design and engineer their own speakers still and dont use off the shelf chinese parts.
It honestly sounds like user error the problems you claim to have with pioneer units.

Na, I am not going to argue I know how they are and just gave my opinion.
