Default Issues with radio volume

I’m having a issue with the volume increasing on its own like it would if you were turning it up with the knob ….I have actually turned it down and watched the volume bars go down then back up after I let go of the knob .I have had it do the same randomly while driving as well ….i assume it’s something loose in the knob …just wandering if anyone else has had this issue.

That may be the speed-sensitive volume kicking in. IIRC, it can be turned off; directions should be in Owner's Manual.

It is turned off and has been off since I got the car ….this has happened while sitting still idling ….right after I adjust the volume …or even happen while driving …and it isn’t consistent and may happen like once a week or once a month

just a dirty contact. You can get gold deoxit spray kit, and pop the knob off to clean the contact. Or just spin the knob back and forth fast with the radio off. mine does it too..then i remember i have radio controls on the steering wheel.
JARblue and Falconquey like this.

Sounds like a dirty potentiometer if it happens immediately after adjusting the volume.
