Why would you need to cut or splice any wires to use the built in AUX A/V ports? Just plug in your video source to the AUX A/V port and

Why would you need to cut or splice any wires to use the built in AUX A/V ports? Just plug in your video source to the AUX A/V port and set the source on the Navi to AUX.
