I have my system setup with factory door speakers, and an alpine type s w/ apline amp setup as a Mono sub. Basically all the bass is sent to the sub only. Very clean and clear setup. My amp is small so it hides underneath the foam that is used to make the truck carpet sit flat.

Do you have the Bose system? Maybe that’s why because the base, the sound is horrible

I don't mind the base speakers... I removed the OEM crossovers and run the base speakers in an active config using 'network mode' on my pioneer headunit. Have a little 450w mono amp powering an 8" Alpine Type R.

Not going to rattle any neighboring vehicles, but it's enough for me... kind of the sweet spot of price/sound/features/storage space.

I have a base setup. I didnt hookup the speakers to the amp. I had the radio take care of that.

No I didn't use Dynamat for my install but if you don't use it you usually end up wishing you did

I just put a Wicked Cas corner fiberglass enclosure in my car.Going from a carpeted wood enclosure this was a nice upgrade. It sounds better in the corner for me,takes up way less space and the great part about it is the entire unit weighs 13 lbs with sub!!!It sounds very tight and impactful, maybe lacks a little deep bass but I'm ok with that.Didn't have time to clean it up,still a little messy....

Interesting Build

I have never seen a sub type like yours, interesting in the way you moved it from a center upward vertical mount to a rear side panel setup
