Default Compact Flash Card..?

My car has the music box with the CF reader. I have no experience with CF aside from putting one into my digital camera. What exactly do I need to buy in order to transfer the MP3s on my PC to the card, to put into the car?

You will need a card reader. Put the CF card in it, attach it to your computer then copy and paste.

Thanks, did you buy one yet or have one?

While I've got you what are the engine break in rules on the car?

I don't have the navi so I don't have the compact flash slot, but the 6 disc changer plays mp3's which is awesome.

Brea-In Schedule per Nissan (page 5-22 of owner's manual)
During the first 1200 miles follow these recommendations to obtain maximm engine performance and ensure the future reliability and economy of your new vehicle.

Failure to follow these recommendations may result in shortened engine life and reduced engine performance.
  • Avoid driving for long periods at constant speed, either fast or slow. Do not run the engine over 4000 rpm
  • Do no accelerate at full throttle in any gear.
  • Avoid quick starts.
  • Avoid hard breaking as much as possible.

I read on some other sites that you can't use anything bigger than 2gb, can you confirm that? Seems like the SanDisk was the best option.

it is not limited to size of CF but limited to the amount of titles it can read as well don't make titles too long or it will noot read that song.

Thumbs down Possibly the Worst Idea for the New Z

The compact flash card reader is possibly the worst idea for the 370Z's music system. It trumps the out-of-place, out-of-theme fuel meter.

I have the Touring edition, with the upgraded Bose sound system. While it's true that the CF card read can be used to play music, 1) the music box won't upload the songs, so you have to have a CF card dedicated to your music and inserted, and 2) who the heck uses CF cards anymore? I mean, has anyone bought a camera, computer, or music player in the last five years that uses a CF card? In America, at least, the SD card is king! It's a worthless little hole in the sound system face plate, IMHO.

My 370Z is a fabulous car, otherwise.
