Underglow Neon Install also rear camera 370Z

Well today I had ksmith062080 come over for an install on his black Z. Ver cool guy even when he played some jokes on me abotu things not working "when they where". Everything turned out nice and I also helped him tune his sub amp and a few other things. The neons are pretty sharp and i respect someone that wants to stand out from others. Also allowed me to take his Z out for a little drive very cool in my book. Thanks and enjoy.

This is the orange wire on the left had side of the trunk. You can use either orange wire.

I covered all the neon tub wires with expandable tubing and heat shrink to help protect them against heat and weather.

The distribution block and remote module installed in the trunk.

Also installed a switch up front so the driver can turn them on and off without the remote

Side neons installed. NOTE: the front and rear neon tube were to long and to big. So we decided to install some led strips in the future.

more pics of red seats

How was removing the seats & the pieces around the center console (where the storage center piece is and such)?

bigaudiofanat 11-15-2009 07:52 PM

Not bad at all. A few screws and it was out nothing you can not visually see what needs to be taken out. Just be careful the seats the left one has 2 connections and the right one has 3. Also sorry I do not have a lot more pictures but will post what I have tomorrow.

Also those rear little spaces right below the manual holder do pop out. They come out straight up.

so why did all that have to come out just to install these two items?

FuszNissan 11-15-2009 10:05 PM

cause the rear view camera requires you to pull the HU out to plug the powermodule and signal wire into it.

if it was just the neon, would've been pretty easy.

big - you always need to solder everything? :D might i suggest spade connectors for when you need to service the switch? :p ;)

You are correct dynamat and running the camera requires that stuff to be taken out.

And NOOOOO no spade connectors unless I have too. :p

I thought the whole neon thing went out in the early 90's? To each's own I guess, but it looks like you know what your doing. Good job man.

Did someone just watch Fast & Furious? :D

Having to see my car with all the wires hanging out like that would make me not want to drive her again, props for pulling such an insane job BigAudio

props for the work and thoroughness but not sure neon lights are called for in a Z, but as mentioned to each his own

Thanks, each person has their own taste. As I said I like that he is being different and unique. Here is a video of the remote working.
