The 370z must be chosen. I believe we are at the top of the list last time I checked.

I'm not sure about the stock microphone and what its connector looks like. We have a built in microphone and also have a 3.5mm stereo socket for a microphone input. To use the existing one, you may need some kind of an adapter just like many other aftermarket head units.

Also for the steering wheel controls you'll require something like the PAC programmable controller. We use a standard 3.5mm TRS input jack for steering wheel controls.

I can not WAIT for this unit to come out. If the 370Z is chosen to be next in line for production, what's your best anticipated release date? Will it be in 2016 or 2017?

Our target would be this fall for release.

I'm not sure if you were asking us or butterysuede? :)

But for Workshop 12, we're located in Mississauga, Ontario Canada... just outside of Toronto.

Yes we are in the process of signing on dealers who will be carrying Brainiac products and will be providing installation services. We recently announced 3 new shops on our social media channels. We're on Instagram as @workshoptwelve

Yeah I'm not affiliated with the company, just posted on their behalf. Can't wait to purchase this though! Please have a dealer on the East Coast (preferably Boston haha)

Will this be doable for a DIY install? I've removed my headunit at least 3 times now and it's super easy, so long as there is a wiring adapter.

Yes, very similar to a head unit install :)

Apologies if you had mentioned this somewhere, but what is the base android version of this unit? Will you guys be keeping up with updates on these devices? These unit's are typically on 4.0 or 4.4, and I feel compatibility with future apps will be an issue if you plan for these units to stay this way.

What are the advantages of your device as opposed to the plethora of unbranded chinese units?

Thanks!

Dang! i was getting ready to buy a double din head unit and a tablet for the cubby. i guess everything is on hold now as i wait for this. i also hope the trim pieces have an option for flat black. in my 2015 nismo all the trim that used to be silver is now black.

Our goal is to ship with Marshmallow. The dependency will be on the CPU used on the board. Some are brought up on M and others do not yet support M yet. The chip manufacturers typically chase the latest version.

Yes we do plan on continued updates to Brainiac head units. Both Android OS versions as well as Brainiac software revisions that can be downloaded via wireless to your car.

There are a lot of different advantages with our unit compared to many other Android head units out there.
- We plan to have 2GB of RAM which makes a world of difference on procession power to run multiple apps and services at once. We learned this from years of experience with smartphone manufacturing
- We plan to have a very recent version of Android
- We have capacitive touch screens like your phone/tablet where many of the cheap Android head units are old pressure based Resistive touch screens
- Our screen's viewing angle is 85/85/85/85 allowing for great visibility from all angles where many cheap head units lose visibility when not looking directly head on.
- Our unit will be an actual double-din size where many of the no-names are slightly larger than a double-din to save money on screens making it difficult to fit with installation kits.
- We have many Host USB ports for accessory integration like our air suspension and relay accessories
- Our software is very focused on a car enthusiast with targeted experiences and integration vs an Android tablet with a radio app.
- We are working with accessory partners to integrate their products with Brainiac

The list goes on and on.. but those are a few off the top of my head :)

Thanks for hitting all of the points. If you deliver on all of the above, you may have a sale on both my Z and pathfinder.
