Hahaha thanks for the props guys, I'll be ordering another monitor to test on Wednesday. And I have been speaking with a rep with GIGABYTE. They are sending me a motherboard to test as a possible hardware base to build from! I should be ready in a couple of weeks for a new print also. I'm hoping I can have something ready for Zdayz this year! Fingers crossed!!! |
Asorg31,
Definitely better than the first prototype. I love it. I like this one better because it does not have the hump tall upper part. Awesome. What is next? |
Yes, this one definitely looks better than the first one. I'm definitely looking forward to see the final product. I'm sure it will be pretty cool and will look amazing.

Awesome.

Edit: just saw the results... noooooo! |
Good Morning all!
I have been spending quite a bit of my time working with vendors to get components for the first solid prototype. So I haven't had the opportunity to be very active lately. But I am back now and gearing up for the trip to ZDAYZ in a couple of weeks. It looks like we won't have a physical prototype to show yet unfortunately. So instead we are putting some time into developing some good documentation to show and discuss while we are down there in North Carolina! I you make it down come hang out with us and I'd be happy to show where we are in the process. We will be hanging with our MAZOC friends on site from late Wednesday on. In the meantime here is a little something to drool over! http://www.the370z.com/members/asorg...-rendering.jpg |

Looking good, I'm very interested in this for my Z

I should be getting my handouts for ZDAYZ today! I'm very excited, I have been working with a very talented artist to make a logo and custom lettering. I think he did a great job! Once I have the full logo later tonight I will post it as well. What do you all think?

Oh that's elegant, serious and to the point and full of innovation at the same time. Just throwing it out there how's Valkyrie Tech? I like this it's like "Valkyrie Technologies, bringing you the future."

I had to drop off my Z to MA Motorsports yesterday to get the CSC, clutch and flywheel replaced. Looks like I won't be making it to ZDayz this year after all... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Although I did get my monitor in over the weekend as well. So hopefully I can begin testing in my now free time off! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...546deb0dc5.jpg

This is very interesting and I'm looking forward to see this finished.
I think I will be getting an actual Tesla as a daily driver considering they will be releasing their Model 3 in a few years at around 30'000 USD. |
Just now saw this thread and it makes me happy. I was down for an order of the Brainiac before the whole thing died, now I see there's still hope. Keep up the good work man!

On another note have had a few setbacks with my software developer and UI designer. Which made me realize that I have been going about this all in the wrong way. My problem is I haven't been able to get these people to be as passionate as me to make this Infotainment system a reality.
It made me realize that passionate people are focused people. If you are not passionate about what you do, and have little immediate gain things won't get done. Now I see that the most passionate people I can find for this project are right here on this forum! So as I prepare for my move to Dallas in the next couple of months I want to put a CALL TO ACTION out here to all my Z enthusiasts who may be software developers or UI/UX designers. If you would be interested in making this a reality in your Z please PM me and we can discuss things in more detail! It would be great if you were in the DFW area so that we could sit down face to face once in a while, but not a requirement. In the meantime, thank you all for your support and I look forward to hearing from you! |
Is this still happening?
|
With not being an engineer, designer, tech, or programmer I feel so useless for all this... Haha either way I still look forward to your success with this project. I've been peeking into the thread every now and then and seen its progress from the beginning. This whole thing is really awesome and nothing makes me happier than to see and know that so many people have contributed and gotten together too achieve a goal. This is amazing and you guys are awesome keep up the good work peeps!

realistically market is too limited, most new cars come with some version of navigation + audio system, and people with used cars will not want to spend $1000 + installation to retrofit their cars since they can buy a suction cup and a cheap used android device, all that is left is a few nuts like us

To be honest, the interface shouldn't hold this project up. Get it moving, using an android logic board and get it in people's hands! There has to be a few android based tablet/carpc interfaces that could be modified for this project's needs. This really isn't all that different than a custom android tablet molded into the dash.

One of the major problems with using any other application out now through my research. None of them have any kind of climate controls built into them. And that is one of the largest reasons for this particular build is to integrate them into the system. The screen was chosen to maximize the space available. And in doing so is large enough to interfere with current access to the nobs. Making two models one with existing controls and one without is far more work than it is worth. In the end there will need to be some software development done before this project can be complete. And I am very open to suggestions, right now I am leaning toward Android Auto since it is freely available and can be modified to work well for this build. But there will still need to be some programming done to support a larger than double DIN screen and also the climate controls. As far as the design, hardware components, and building I have that fully under control. It is the software development that I will take any help I can get!! |
