I have a Kenwood system replaced the Bose system on my Z, my friend did it for me, I can use the Bose speakers, steering-wheel control.
The job is very very straight-forward, nothing tricky.

Thanks for everyone's replies. Having done as much research as I could I caught on to the A/M shop and their possible 'having to rewire and replace speakers' angle as a money-grabber. Although I got a great deal on the Kenwood at that store I just took it with me and am having it installed at a different shop.
