Safest way to recieve payment when you sell a vehicle?

Other than cash what are the safest ways to get paid if I'm privately selling a used vehicle. Money orders and cashiers checks are easily forged and you bank will hapily cash it for you and then withdraw the funds later.

You could do a certified check. I think most Mortgage Companies require you to have a certified check when putting a downpayment down on a house. It's different than a cashier's check in that the bank guarantees that there are sufficient funds in the account to cover the check - it cannot bounce. The only way it would become void is if the bank were to fail before you could deposit the check.
