I've never been a Corvette guy but the C7 really got my attention and if this actually happens it's gonna be a beast.

Well 2017 is potentially the year we get a new Z, FT-1 (supra), and S2000 so this could be a really smart move for Chevy.

Same rumor that comes around every new generation of the Vette.
MJB, actually the Corvette team or someone at GM has already said they have a good percent of work done for the c8 already (probably 30%) and doing planning/testing.

Yeah, I remember reading that the C7 was originally going to be mid engine, but development was delayed and Chevy just decided to save that for the C8.

I am not saying it won't happen, but the mid engine vette has been a rumor since the c5 generation I believe if not before. If GM does build a mid engine car it will probably get classified as something else.

That's a concept from a long time ago. Chevy has been teasing a mid-engine corvette for something like 30 years. Chevy keeps bringing it back up so they obviously would like to pull this off.

I pretty much knew GM was going to go mid engine with a Corvette eventually. Like I had mentioned before, I read an article and the GM engineers were actually working on a mid engine C7 a few years back, but it got scrapped and they decided to do it for the next Gen. And if the new Z06 has 640hp, I'm wondering how much this ZR1 is going to have? The HP wars are getting crazy!
