Air Conditioner Refill

I'm at ~39k miles now, and my AC isn't cooling as well as I recall it did once. So I guess it's time to refill the refrigerant. Is this something I can/should do with one of those kits they sell, or should I just let the dealer do it? If I DIY, is there anything I need to watch out for? Thanks

You shouldn't have to refill it this soon, imo. Take it to an AC shop and have them check out your system if you're concerned.
