Default Hood gap?

So i picked up my new 2012 Z yesterday gun-metallic with sport 6mt. I love the car but today as I was appreciating it for the 100th time i noticed that the front left edge of the hood is not flush in the light assembly, it is about 3-5mm higher, I can actually push it down back flush. Any thoughts? dont want to make a big deal of it but its a brand new car.

There is usually a rubber stop that can be adjusted under the hood with a left or right turn depending on how you want the hood to sit. Check it out.

I would try Red's suggestion, and if that doesn't fix it let the dealer know. I personally would not be able to ignore an issue like that after buying a new car.

Mine did that on the passenger side...the electrical lead to the MAF on the intake was in the way. Moved it and bingo the hood was level again. Check for any leads or etc that might be up in the way. It should be a flush fit.

Modern cars go through a ton of qc on body gap adjustments. I personally watched them built and adjust my last car. It is likely that that gap is a compromise with another gap, if that makes any sense. Tweak it, but remember how exactly, as you might well put it back.

Also remember that the 370 hood has two hood latchs. It happened to me at first and I thought the hood was misaligned. Just make sure both are engaged.

Other than that I would take it to the dealer. GL

My hood sat a bit higher than the front fascia just slightly. Kind of unnerving at the track at speed. I adjusted the two screw hooks (hood latches) and viola! Fixed. The rubber stops really are a lot lower and more of a "bump stop" if you will and actually have little to do with it.

Had the same problem, took it to the dealer and they tightened the clamps and apparently 1 was loose and all they did was tighten it back in place and it fixed it.

Been there.... open the hood. And slam it down from the center 3x. You won't have that problem again

Yah you have to drop the hood from pretty high to get both sides to latch correctly.
