OEM cats value?

Hey guys wasn't sure where to toss this so here I am, but next week im having my test pipes installed. shop doing the work is offering me 500$(cad) for my oem cats does this seem like a reasonable value? slightly over 10,000km on them. Couldn't find much in the way of cats for sale on here to compare to...seems like a lot of people scrap them for 150-300 usd?

just my 2cents here , don't know about restrictions there but here in Cali you will need them for when the smog inspection is due , but $500.00 cad if you don't need them sounds good , but in the other hand if the shop is offering you that much , means he can sell them for double the money to someone that will need them in the future ????? like you perhaps

They ditched air-care here in 2014 due to the number of old high pollutant vehicles being so low, it’s a very new car dominant market here so it wasn’t cost effective to have it in place so I can’t see it coming back. I thought about selling privately as well for say 750 but 500 no hassle seemed reasonable 🤷🏻*♂️ But if it comes across as a good price to others such as yourself I’ll probably take it 👍🏻

I'd take that if I were you. Fair price and no hassle. Sure, you can probably get more, but the question is how much time and energy will you use in doing so.

I’m in Florida can get 800for both cats, but if you’re in Cali I recommend keeping them just in case you get caught
