New THE370Z Decal Preview 05.19.10
 

History:
About 6-8 months ago, one of our forum member sent me a pm with a possible decal design idea.

Basically, he was browsing the Official Nissan Fairlady Z Japanese website and saw this drawing of the 370Z outline.

I thought it's a pretty neat outline and I liked the idea. About a months ago, I also stumbled upon some very early drawings of Nissan 370Z. This was one of the side outline they tried to maintain when they designed the 370Z.

Okay, so here are the Decals. There are two different fonts. Font 1 and Font 2. I personally like font 1. I want to hear your input.

Since it's the prototype, the decal is facing backward. I just posted it here so that you can get an idea. Production decals both will be facing the front window.

Hey Ak, I like them though I think for my taste I'd would prefer something a little smaller so it doesn't take up that much window space.

I like the sketch....but both of the fonts arent agreeing with me. I do enjoy the CURRENT font on...whichever sticker I get that has the outline of the car...

i have to disagree u lose the outline of the car with this decal idk i love the current one i have which is the same as on MB's car above me

Thanks for you input. Please note this will be the third design. This is NOT going to replace any decal. The first and second designs (with silhouette) are NOT going anywhere :tup:

font 2 text is nice but as Trips pointed out, the decal is a bit large. Perhaps stretching it out lengthwise for a backglass application?

I'm with you AK, Font no 1 for sure. Why would you put cute and bubbly lettering on a car thats covered in sexy angles. :tup:

Not a fan of the fonts though..

I like the current one, (I have the one without a car silhouette). I suppose I could just cut the car out with a razor blade :ugh2: if the fonts work for me.

I'm not really feeling this one. The lines look too wide. Thinner would be better IMO.

Font1 looks good to me. I guess I'm in the minority.

I don't like the car design on the graphic but I do like the orange outlines on the sketches.

I personally like the original decals. These are too thick for me.

P.S. I can't believe so many of you guys are hating on this! The design is as JDM as you can get. This is the lines our cars were based off of. I actually took my original the370z.com decal off cause I thought it was too thin n skinny n was coming off on me. I think the decal came out great n i guess I could suggest two different sizes as an option for people to choose from.

I'm certainly not hating on any of the new designs. Remember, AK asked for input. What appeals to one may not to the other. It doesn't mean one is better than the other, it just means not everyone has the same likes or dislikes. That is a good thing or we'd all be driving the same cars.

I like it with font 2 personally.

Since you're looking for feedback - ewww.... When I saw the first pictures I thought that was what the decals were and I thought they were pretty cool but then I realized they were based on the swoops from the first pictures. You really need the picture of the car as a reference otherwise it could just as easily be a picture of a fishing lure or a Rorschach test. It looks like a washed out Chevy logo to me.... and I know the lines of the car. Someone who doesn't know the car wouldn't have a clue as to the reference of the logo. Just sayin....

Both are just enough. The proposed ones remind me of the 370Z mirrors: a wee bit too large and overbearing. Sorry AK, but I have to be truthful.

I prefer just the logo without the website, which would probably be the only way I'd actually put a decal on my car.

How are we going to promote our site? if your ass just wants the logo :shakes head:

I propose raised white letter tires with "the370z.com" and the Z silhouette as the other raised white portion.

I like the silhouette that utilizes the brush stroke, like Infiniti is doing. A 370Z like this would look good IMO.
