I am absolutely against this. I have owned Nissans since 1983 and love the cars but hate any intrusion on personal life. Are you sure the NHTSA isn't behind this. Collecting info on mods made and tracking us down to put electric motors in the cars. I wonder if they are going after the 370z.com site also?

Check with Nissan Big Brother, do they really want this kind of bad press in the news? Or info about paint swirls, brakes failing, oil cooler issues, mediocre speakers etc etc (not sure what etc is but we can throw that at them anyway). What would Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, NY Daily News do with this kind of story. We are mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore.

I would personally recommend you email Nissan the suggestion of creating a new Corporate class for them which would enable them to read posts directed at nissan corporate. If this is not possible or is too hard maybe you can put a corporate section in the forum so people with problems can address it directly to Nissan and hopefully action will come more promptly.

I heard on Autoblog the other day that GM has created a new section that specifically searches the internet for forums and addresses problems (either through responses or a phone call or email) ppl have with their GM cars. I think this is a GREAT idea and would greatly boost customer satisfaction to know that GM (nissan) is actively seeking to solve the problems with their cars.

I just want to let everyone know that this was April fools joke. Nissan did not send me any email about taking money from the forum. The corporate contacts are pretty cool guys. They have responded to me very professionally every time I have sent them an email. I just don't want anyone to get any wrong idea here.
