So, why is the Z different?

A few things come to mind. One definitely has to do with driving. WOT shifting makes a pretty big difference when racing. I don't do it much, but I do wonder if my times would improve much doing it.

I also wonder how much oil temps and whatnot have to do with it as well. Seems this car is very picky about little things like that no?
You're definitely right about the oil temp part. The sweet spot seems to be about 140 to 160 degrees on the oil temp gauge. I've noticed that when I make a run at any temp higher than that I'll get a slower time and trap speed. And call me crazy but I can feel it when the ECU cuts power at the top of 3rd gear on a run.

I don't usually powershift either (jnaut gives me sh*t about that all the time). But once in a while when I feel like I've cut an extremely good launch and shifted 2nd and 3rd gear well, I'll powershift 4th in hopes of making the run that much better.
