Of course I roll with an Audi club, so our cars are perhaps predisposed to being hustled around in haste. To say a stock car won't last 5 laps without issue is just ignorant. But I'm sure you are a track god none the less. See ya at LimeRock.
Most "newbies" you talk about don't run their cars hard enough to even break a sweat. Does it surprise you that they can run all day when they run the car at 70% of its capability? Try driving the car at 95% and up and see how long a stock car can last before your brakes and tires start to overheat. I am not saying the enginewill fail, I am simply saying that the car will become so much slower that you are better off running two cool down laps before you go hard again. Track god, nah. Track junkie, yes.
