In the past I owned 2 Escort Solo cordless detectors. After a couple of summers, both of them completely failed due to summer heat in the car. I think it was mainly due to the batteries exploding. I sent both back to Escort for repair, but I wound-up throwing each of them out. I did not want to have to bring the detector into the office everytime I parked the car outside. I almost didn't buy an Escort this time around, but decided to give their corded model a try. For my cars, I have a mount in each car with Invisicord and simply move the detector from car to car with no issues. Personally, I would not buy a cordless detector again. My $0.02.
