The one missing factor is how hot was the temp were the z was stored?
Seems like maybe hot temp peeking thru the garage door or window opening would explain the magnified meltdown on that part of the cover. Sorry to hear about this but I find that the some covers aren't designed for extreme heat or cold. Pics would have been nice. Good Luck
