I gotta agree. I think you are just paying extra for the exclusivity of blk chrry. Whenever you buy your car, just really look carefully for any defects in your paint. Once you determine your paint is tip top. Take the car home, handwash it with soft microfiber cloths and apply your favorite high quality wax. Use quick detailer after every wash. And repeat wax every 3 months or so. This gives minor protection to your paint. Also I would recommend a clear bra for the front end. As long as the car is handwashed at least bi-weekly and waxed quarterly, the paint should hold up fairly well.
Oh, NEVER use a automated car wash. Nissan clearcoat is weak and will scuff. DO NOT use touchless carwash. Reason being, they use acid based soaps that eat nissan clearcoat...
Most cars today, have crappy paint. Its not a nissan issue. Its an all round cost cutting issue. Very few sub premium car companies use high quality paint. It sucks that paints are so tempermental these days. It makes us have to work a lot to keep our cars looking good.
