Hydraulic leak - factory defect, most likely. It's the replacement slave cylinder they're talking about, mounted on your transmission.
Most likely within Nissan's expected failure rate, which any car manufacturer will have. They'll replace it under warranty, dealership will document it (when they write a repair order), and I'm sure it'll be folded into some corporate powerpoint presentation somewhere in Nissan. If it's not statisically significant, that's probably as far as it'll go.
