I shoot with a Nikon (D90) and its more camera than I need. I couldn't imagine switching at this point since I've invested so much in lenses and flashes already. I tried the T2i when I was buying the D90. Great image quality, but I just couldn't get use to the controls and ergonomics. These two were pretty close, but I liked the Nikon image processing a little better. Using multiple speedlight flashes is so much easier on the Nikons also.

Not a fanboy or anything, on the contrary, I think you can't lose with either one.
your exactly right 18mp is overkill for most, for me though, I need it, and I agree, nikons seem to have better flash support compared to canon as far as ease goes. I decided against lighting equipment and went with a better camera first so I can get the proper size pics im looking for, lighting will come later. I looked at the d90 and d5000 before buying this, but im happy with this. im no fanboy by any stretch, and whether someone goes with nikon or canon, the quality of the pics is still in the hands of the user!
