I'm not asian but I've learned a little bit about Japanese culture. There are also probably people here who know more about D1. I am a fan though. So for those who don't know Nomuken is like a nickname for
Ken Nomura. I believe the Japanese will often address people by their last name first like Nomura Ken. As a nickname he's "Nomuken". I don't think it works for all names though.
He's also known by the nickname Monkey. That's why his helmet is painted with that theme. His shop is named
Uras which is backward for Saru (monkey) in Japanese. His product line is called Monkey Magic lol. I know a little about this guy because I was always a fan of the Skyline and he was one of the few who used that platform in D1. He drives with a lot of heart, I think the first time he won an event he cried because it took a lot of battling to get there. On a side note I found this free iPhone app called Human Japanese. I got it to try to learn a little about the language. It's pretty cool.
