Great write-up!
I used NXT wax for a while, it worked well.
I have since switched to Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax (No. 845).
It's fantastic stuff, beads really well, lasts well, and can go over trim pieces without leaving them white with that annoying residue. It's also easy as pie to apply. Goes on clear, then dries to a slight haze. Easy to remove as well.
