they would only get scratched where the wheel mates, so you wouldn't see it. For an easily driven street car, they would be fine. But if you ever heat up the brakes, the powdercoat on the hats softens and brake dust gets in it and they darken and lose their gloss. Take it on the track, and it just burns off. The only coating I would do is either a spray can of duplicolor 1200 degree ceramic paint (which will also burn off on the track), but does hold up on the street, or actual ceramic coating or anodizing.
