Found a 370z in Chicane Yellow (base/sport pkg) at a dealership about 130 miles away. Took the trip and bought the car on the D plan, hassle free, and just got back. The car is awesome!
I'm in the dog house with the wife big time though..
More detailed thoughts from the drive back:
- The drive back on the highway was much smoother than expected. On slotted or rough pavement it is definitely noisier, but on relatively good asphalt the car is very smooth, relatively quiet (for a sports car) and tracks very straight. Overall, I found it to be much less fatiguing than I expected. I could easily take a 10 hour drive in this car..
- The seats definitely recline enough to nap. I was a little worried about this one but it turned out just great.
- The automatic climate control (on the base) seems pretty retarded. It seems to blow the same temp for about 90% of the temperature setting dial. I don't know if it's just mine or it's really this lame..
- What's up with the head rests pushing out the back of the chair when you lean against them? Very cheap and very annoying.
Overall though, an awesome car (so far).
