It's been ages since I updated that iPod actually (I typically stream music these days). Now that you've reminded me I vaguely recall using winamp to sync to the iPod... I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's is causing my problem.
The 3.0 beta may also be causing my problem with the iPhone/370
