I put the Z on jack stands tonight as per these pics and it seems rock solid; it doesn't waggle or budge at all when I push on it. I'd appreciate any comments about flaws or dangers I'm overlooking in the setup.

I put a thick piece of rubber between the top of each jack stand and the undersise pressure point.
