Well the Droid just got 2.1 so it is one par software wise with the Nexus one, but the N1 just blows it out of the water in terms of raw power (snapdragon CPU plus more memory).
In terms of use v. the iPhone, that is a bit of a wash really.
Both interact in the same way, after spending two years with an iPhone and still supporting them I can tell you migrating through either OS is the same. Your only differences is where items may be located under a menu option which is how it will be with any OS (mobile, desktop, server, etc.).
