Let's take a different spin on matters...of the three which are most likely to be around producing vehicles for the US? Nissan appears pretty solid as does Hyundai (a family friend of ours works for their executive office here in the States, and Hyundai is doing well here). Mits is the one having the most ongoing issues with actually staying afloat. Too little model selection that buyers want, and a dying line up; they are also pulling their offices out of Europe. Mits is known in Japan for their engines, and can return to solely building engines for others. The Lancer alone cannot keep Mits going. Feb. '09 saw a 51% sales decline—this is huge, and unsustainable for a company with such a weak lineup.
