Anybody recognize this 40th?
Found this 40th at a dealer, although out of state, but priced well. Carfax reported one accident to the front left fender, assuming they did not replace the fender, then it is was a minor accident. It is also CPO surprisingly...
I do not really care for the carbon fiber hood nor the aftermarket navigation, but everything else looks great on the car including the nismo exhaust. Trying to see if I can locate the last owner to see if they have details on the accident. http://i.imgur.com/Umalr0W.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cxhMik6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ps0Ddnw.jpg |
The have to replace the fender. Those bitches crumple in 2 seconds.
And go take the carbon fiber off. That's a wrap. Literally |
And Nismo exhaust and color matched handles
|
:iagree:

Thank goodness I was really hoping it was just a wrapped hood.
I actually am liking the color matched handles... |
Certified Pre-owned is something I would be careful about. It is up to the dealer to "certify" the car. It is up the dealership tech to accurately, honestly and COMPLETELY certify the car.
I purchased a CPO 2009 Altima. Found out later during the paperwork process it was actually a 2010. I then found out LATER it had actually been wrecked, needing both RH doors, fenders and so on. Found paint overspray. My suggestion. Have the dealership toss it on a 2 post rack. Poke around with a flash light. See if anything is off or concerning. When in doubt...walk away. CPO is a joke in my opinion in most cases. |
In case of this 40th Anniv. car. I would be suspicious of a few things:
The CF Vinyl wrapped hood....What color is it on the underside? Could it have a hood from a different car that was just wrapped touched up? The NISMO exhaust.... that could have been a dealer take off from another vehicle. I would check out the exhaust system for damage, welding and crimps. The smoked Tails, Headlights, emblems & missing emblems.... The fact it was wrecked and now is missing emblems and has others painted might mean more body work was done or needed. I would definitly be suspicious. Wrecked fenders often do damage to the headlights as well. I would pay close attention to the lenses for cracks & missing mounting tabs. Personally I do not like buying modded cars unless the price is RIGHT. |
^^^Hey Dustin, I don't see the missing emblems.
OP, get the build number or the VIN and do a search. If it has placards saying xxxx/1000, it is a forum member for sure. Even if it doesn't, google the VIN. See what comes up. I LOVE the 40th. But I'd stay away. I'd love to see it in person. I can tell you what has been painted in 20 seconds and what is wrong. Also, look for the stitching on the steering wheel. It should be red |
It is missing the rear 370z/40th anniversary emblem. It is build# 753 and is out in the NJ area.
The steering wheel stitching is red. Here is the listing: 2010 Nissan 370Z Touring | Used Cars For Sale | CarFax | Hainesport NJ | Altima |

Perfect condition based on the provided pictures, 32,700 miles on the odometer, and they were willing to accept $27.5k OTD. State tax here is 6.25% and title/license fees around $120. So looks like the invoice is right around $25,750. Build# 997 Trying to see if I can make arrangements to look at it today. |
