Woohoo!!! Thanks to hdskull, my 40th has new shoes!

looks ok...I prefer the oem 40th wheels on the 40th Quartz Gray.

Very nice. I love the NISMO wheels. I'd like them more on the 40th in a dark gunmetal, though.

The thinner spokes will help show off the calipers, but get them painted gunmetal. Darker rims look nicer on the 40th.

Thanks guys. Well, the reason I traded the 40th wheels is because the 40th was "too grey". I know I know, there is nothing as too grey, I just felt it was. If ever I decide to powder coat them, I will do it in satin black.

Added a new photo to show the drilled and slotted rotors behind the nismo wheels.

The rotors look good. Are those DBA rotors? One piece or two? Why did you remove the two deflector pieces in front of the wheel wells?

LMBmikeZ 03-11-2011 05:43 PM

Looks pretty good. But I think darker wheels look better on the 40th though to...

BrickyardZ 03-11-2011 05:51 PM

I thought about Nismo wheels but couldn't do it. The 40th wheels look great and help give the car it's unique look. That being said, you can't go wrong with the Nismo wheels.

Thanks! These are Stillen 1 piece D&S rotors. Got a really good deal from Stillen. As far as the front deflectors, I'm lowered on H&R springs, they keep scraping. I will be removing my front spoiler as well once I switch to TEIN Super Street Coils.

Yeah, but everyone is going black and anything darker. I wanted contrast since I got tired of the 40th being too dark and grey. And yes, I am starting to regret getting this color. LOL

The 40th wheels are just regular powdercoated Rays. I can always powdercoat my Nismo if needed. And I can always buy 40th rims from a vendor here for a really good price if needed - but I doubt it. I'm loving the Nismo wheels like big time! No need to paint my door handles, rear headlights, and my front headlights! Coz if I still had the 40th Rays, I felt the need to paint the lights black and the door handles into body color.

I would powdercoat them gunmetal or black!

natepaulus 03-12-2011 03:51 AM

Lovin it!!

I was just wondering the other day how the 40th would look with lighter shoes. Definitely diggin' th 3-way contrast of the body-calipers-wheels! Please post some light of day pics??

Honestly, you took a chance and it paid off big time. Nice.
