When i read your original post, i felt really bad b/c i saw how angry you were. i thought you had ordered a car and they lost your order and it never came in. If you can't see any humor in this situation you need to lighten up a little.

I found it amusing. BTW, could you call Mr. K and ask him what the build number of my BC roadster is and what the total number in North America will be? You don't need to do it during dinner though. Oh, and tell him Russ with the red TwinTurbo says "hi". :ugh2:

On a more serious note, I think that Nissan should have numbered them. I just think it is a good idea to identify any stated number, limited production item with a difinitive build number. For those of us with limited production colors that never had a stated limit, it would obviously be much more difficult. I assure you that the numbers are available in a database after the close of the model year. Gettting them may be another story.

Best of luck to all in the search!

I heard there were only going to be 600 in the US...

LMBmikeZ 08-29-2010 09:27 AM

600...............haven't herd that yet

But where did you read or hear this? Any supporting documents?(links) lols

****UPDATE ON MY SEARCH****
I called Nissan North America (Friday) about trying to get build numbers for the 120 Canadian 40ths that Nissan Canada says they had sent out of the 1000 for North America. So they said they will look into it at Nissan NA and get back to me asap...

So any of the other Canadian 40th owners on here hang on we still might get our build numbers!!.... lol

Keep chuggin'! I'm going to give Heidi a call Monday morning.

TeeZ 08-31-2010 09:37 AM

Can we just have a big meeting for all of 40th in North America and go count them that day?

LMBmikeZ 08-31-2010 04:30 PM

Does it not say what production number it is on metal tab on the crossbar.

Unfortunately our American cousins do not get such a plate on the crossbar (have no idea why not?) & hence their current attempts to get Nissan US to tell them their production numbers.

They also (I think?) don't get the ConnectPremiuim sat nav system we get but they do get a free car cover (which we have to pay for).

Cheers,

O'H RIGHT.

I thought they all had the number on :wtf2:

Thanks Brian

UPDATE:

As of today, I contacted Nissan Canada they are looking into when and where the 120 Canadian models fit into the 1000 40th's produced! Which is good news because my last update from them was just tell me that they only had 120 in Canada, now they understand and are trying to find out where our 40th's place into the production numbers!

I am still very skeptical on this though! I think Nissan bull sh!ted and they are just blowing smoke out there a$$!

krzykanuk 10-16-2010 09:38 AM

Cool. It would be nice to know both N.A. build number and Canadian build number.

I think Nissan is full of sh-t also. Its just no way that someone didnt think of this badge stuff before production of the 40th at nissan. But yet they thought of shift rev match.:stirthepot:

LOL if I had to choose though, I'd pick SRM over badging.

LMBmikeZ 10-29-2010 09:33 AM

I would agree but those are on two completely different levels.

I would rather have our build numbers with a badge more like the nismo's then have added extra badges on places like our brace bar......................

Regardless I am 100% happy with my Z and love it even more then my Z! I bought this one new so all that matters is that it will always be mine! But I'll just add my own decal or something like some of the other 40th owners have done so far.
