"Undocumented immigrants are paying their taxes today, too."
I find this article laughable at best.
How are they able to measure how many undocumented immigrants are paying taxes? My opinion is that most of them are NOT paying because:
1. Why bring attention to yourself when you are here illegally.
2. Why pay taxes when you technically don't have to (no SSN/ITIN).
Per the article:
"Some undocumented immigrants choose to pay taxes:
It shows they’re complying with federal tax laws.
It can help them demonstrate 'good moral character' if they later have an opportunity to legalize their immigration status."
Okay, so completely ignore the fact that you crossed over illegally, and paying taxes would justify making your presence legal somehow.
