Amazingly, off the shelf Turtle Wax Headlight restorer & protectant works very well (Green bottle). No sanding required. 2 Micro-fibers / 1 to apply and 1 to wipe off and buff. Should go from yellow and crusty to crystal clear. It worked for my 2013, should work for your 2012. You will literally see the yellow oxidation all over the micro fiber upon first application. Then just keep going at it until its clear enough for you to be satisfied.
