The stock tune has some delay built into the throttle response. A good tune will get rid of a lot of the delay (plus provide other benefits).
Wide tires + short wheelbase + light vehicle =
tramlining. Your alignment can make a big difference; quite a few threads on this site about what specs work best for some people.
