Ok, so I got a response from Coolerworx. As a test, they suggest applying grease to the insert and pin as shown in the pic and see if it quiets it down some or completely. If so, the believe they have a fix. I also noticed that in their picture, they have a rubber o ring on the pin that goes into the shifter shaft. I don't believe mine had it and in previous pics in this thread, I don't see one either. Coolerworx said it didn't come on the earlier model. I wonder if this could be the source of the rattling? The pin is held into the shifter shaft by a set screw. Maybe the o ring helps it fit tighter to the bottom of the shaft and it wouldn't be metal on metal. Maybe someone can source an o ring from a hardware store and try that first and see if it cures the rattling. If not, then try applying grease to the pin and insert and see what happens.
