I was at Buttonwillow a few weeks back and almost over-cooked it going into sunset, the car initially understeered, then began to oversteer. I was able to correct, but just barely and had to sacrifice a bunch of speed to safely make the corner. A little more speed or a little more slip angle and the rear end would have dropped into the dirt. Like HotRodz said, don't try to be a hero there...just ride it out and re-enter the track once it's safe to do so. Very few people recover from an off there when they try to save it, sadly two of my friends have hit that wall.
