How how much does the screen move/deflect while mounted to the head unit?
How is the screen viability in sunlight with it sticking out of the dash?
Have you seen this thread? Sounds like what you're planning.

DIY: 9.7 inch Vertical Android Head unit install (Picture Heavy)

Once the screen is mounted to the head unit, it's pretty solid. I haven't noticed any vibration or movement.

In terms of screen viability in the sunlight, it's bright! The head unit has screen brightness adjustments for both day and night. It's so bright that I have it turned down all the way for the night time setting.
