Yeah, I hate Nissan for letting that bird crap on my freshly washed car.
On a more serious note...
It looks like the failed hose was under some tension. The 'resting' position in your photo is about an inch from the actual fitting. Was the hose short or did you have to put some tension on it to get the fittings to meet up?
