Stuff like this is why he's nervous. Fake cashiers checks are pretty common these days and hardly the equvalent of cash. You may not know for a week or two if the "Check" is legit even if the bank has cashed it in good faith. . The seller or victim always gets burned cause the bank will want their money back. Agreed. Even cashiers checks are no longer perfectly safe. And I've even read of set ups where you are paid cash, buyer drives off with your car and a couple of his thugs then follow you and mug you en route to the bank. Last time I did cash, I spent a hundred bucks and took an off duty brute of a security guard along with me. Turned out to be unnecessary but I felt better.
