I've got a real-world example. Ceramic-coated Z, peacock saw its reflection (car must be too shiny) and tried to kick the intruder. Put several scratches in the door. Took quite a bit of buffing by professional detailer to get the panel looking perfect again.

Don't rely on ceramic coating for scratch protection. It may have been worse without it, sure, but you still get scratches with ceramic coat. PPF would fare much better, at a lot higher cost.
