When I was doing our floors (800is sq ft of hardware and subfloor, plus removal of carpeting and laminate through about 3000 sq ft of our house) it was several weeks where I'd work my day job, and come home around 5:30 and work till 11 pm on the house.

A casual observer would just see that I come home most days, work out, and then put my feet up.
I do all the car maintenance (or pay a shop to do it) also, but dont really consider that a chore. More like a hobby, for me anyway. She makes a really big deal when I change the oil on her car, like she owes me big time..it helps to do it on a hot day so you can really work up a sweat and look like you went through hell to change that oil
