ECU will auto downshift for you as you slow down
YOU must upshift as it will not in manual mode
ECU prevents you from upshifting too soon, and downshifting too late - rev protection on both sides.
ECU also has a 1sec delay built in on shifts - unless you have had to a tuner and had that removed

Can't really mess it up to be honest, and if you do, slap back in auto *shrug*

Frankly, if you can already manual run a 7AT at the stick, paddles is no different . Just takes place of the stick is all, but can still use either
