I've been running Plex for years. When I bought the new TV last year, I found out that Samsung's smart TV OS has a Plex app that works fairly well. The QNAP NAS OS also has a Plex app, though I haven't bothered to try it out.
Definitely need to upgrade the storage at home. Ripping blu-rays at full resolution takes up a lot more space than DVDs
