Default Front Bumper Modification

So I did a search and I couldn't find anything but I apologize if this has been covered somewhere.

Has anyone cut the grill/top matte portion of their stock bumper to improve airflow to intercooler/oil cooler/radiator, etc.? This portion covers about half of the surface area of my intercooler.

I want to do this but I want to do something to give the middle a little support so that it does not bend and rub or crack at higher speeds. I was trying to think of some design to replace the front 3 fins and matte portion with like an 'X' or something else low profile to not inhibit air flow. I have the Stillen SC kit w/ A2A conversion so I am trying to allow more airflow to the coolers. Thanks!
